MEET THE CREW OF DG PRODUCTIONS:

In 1998, after an unsuccessful knee surgery left him unable to participate in triathlons and other running events, Don Garrett looked for means to remain connected to the events  and the people he had enjoyed for years.  Having been a race director himself, he was aware of the challenges these people faced.  He explored the options available and found the central Oklahoma area was under-represented for race management services.  The primary company doing this business was in Tulsa and the owner was discussing retirement.

In the fall of 1998 DG contracted the first event to time.    During the year of 1999, DG worked with about 20 races .  As the business grew, more people joined this part-time business and many weekends found DG working as many as 7 events in Oklahoma and beyond.  In 2004 DG become part of the ChampionChip timing network and started timing races using the latest in microchip technology. The largest race to date has been The Race for the Cure with 16,000 entrants.  The shortest event has been a one mile run and the longest has been 100 miles.  Services have expanded to include race consulting, equipment rental, course measurement and other services.

Today, when DG is providing people to time and coordinate a race, participants are reassured that the race is a professionally run event.  In 2008, DG Productions will assist with more than 100 events throughout the southwest.
